POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Medical Services
Manager, the Patient Assistant provides the US Army Health Clinic (USAHC)
coordination, general clinical administrative and clerical support for the
delivery of medical, optical and dental care.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Registers eligible patients by
    obtaining and verifying demographic information through interaction with
    patients, and then enters this information into MC4 systems AHLTA-T and TC2 or
    any medical program designated for tracking.
  • Schedule appointments with USAHC
    providers, may require coordinating directly with USG Representatives to
    include Physicians, nurses, medics and other medical personnel) to include
    other contractor elements.
  • Assist with maintaining military
    personnel medical/dental records in accordance with Military Treatment
    Facility, General Administration, Medical Record Administration Army Regulation
    40-66, The Privacy
Act of 1974, HIPAA and instructions
provided by the USG.
  • Assist with periodic chart
    review, flag omissions, and refer them to the provider concerned for
    clarification of inconsistent data and resolution.
  • Assist with the referral
    management program for the military and other eligible patients for treatment
    at the local host nation medical facilities providing medical services that are
    not available in the USAHC.
  • Act as a liaison between patient
    and host nation healthcare personnel to ensure necessary care is provided promptly
    and effectively.
  • Assist in preparation of daily,
    weekly and monthly Medical Disease and Non-Battle Injury (DNBI) to meet established
    contractual deadlines.
  • Performs other
    duties as required and directed by PAS and Medical Serices Manager.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

Personal computer,
laptops, scanners, printers, faxes, other network equipment and other general
office equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is generally office
environment.
However, duties will involve the conduct of work in the outdoors
with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent
